HUNTING ART PRIZE ANNOUNCES 2010 JURORS
HOUSTON- Hunting PLC announced today that three respected members of the national arts community will serve as jurors for the 2010 Hunting Art Prize. Members of the jury, who will select both the finalists and the winner of the prize during a two-tiered judging process that begins in January, are:
- Sarah Cash, Bechhoefer Curator of American Art at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.
- Rita Aida Gonzalez, Assistant Curator, Contemporary Art, at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
- Lorelei Stewart, Director of Gallery 400 at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
The $50,000 Hunting Art Prize – which celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2010 – is among the largest annual arts awards in the country, and is the largest award in North America for painting and drawing. The recipient will be announced at a May 1 gala in Houston.
