Hunting Art Prize announces 2009 Jurors.
HOUSTON - Hunting PLC announced today that three respected members of the national arts community will serve as jurors for the 2009 Hunting Art Prize.
Members of the jury, who will select both the finalists and the winner of the prize during a two-tiered judging process that begins in January, are:
• Kate Green, independent curator and former curator of Artpace in San Antonio;
• Chiyo Ishikawa, deputy director of art, Seattle Art Museum in Seattle, Washington;
• Suzanne Folds McCullagh, curator-prints and drawings, The Art Institute of Chicago in Chicago, Illinois.
The $50,000 Hunting Art Prize is the largest annual arts award in the country. The recipient will be announced at a May 2 gala in Houston. The Hunting Art Prize is open to any Texas-based artist who is 18 years or older. For more information on the competition, visit www.huntingartprize.com.
