LINDA LORELLE SCHOLARSHIP CHOSEN AS HUNTING ART PRIZE CHARITY FOR A SECOND YEAR.
HOUSTON - Hunting PLC has announced that it will once again donate proceeds from the Hunting Art Prize to the Linda Lorelle Scholarship Fund, a Houston-based charity that provides scholarships, support and ongoing guidance to Houston-area high school students in need of financial and career assistance to fulfill their academic potential throughout their college experience.
Dennis Proctor, Chief Executive of Hunting PLC, whose U.S. corporate headquarters are in Houston, said his company is honored to work with the Linda Lorelle Scholarship Fund for a second year. “This scholarship fund is a way to have a positive impact on the lives of the next generation,” Proctor explained. “It is a privilege to continue contributing to a program focusing on a solid work ethic to fulfill a young person’s goal of a higher education.”
Hunting moved the Hunting Art Prize to Houston in 2006 after a quarter century in the United Kingdom, where the prize emerged as one of Great Britain’s top art awards. The Hunting Art Prize -- whose $50,000 award is the most generous annual art prize in the U.S. -- is awarded in two-dimensional painting and drawing to a Texas-based artist. The winner of the competition will be announced on May 2, 2009.
